The course introduces students to European contract law focusing, in particular, on non-negotiated contracts and digital market.
The course is aimed at acquiring skills in interpreting and using sources in order to solve legal cases. Therefore students will improve not only analytical skills but also problem-solving skills.
At the end of the course, students will be able to express their legal reasoning in English language.

Programma

Particular attention will be focused on unfair contract terms (EU directive 93/13), on consumer rights (EU directive 2011/83), on certain aspects concerning contracts for the supply of digital content and digital services (EU directive 770/2019), on the role of consent and of accountability principle in the processing of data according to EU General Data Protection Regulation 679/2016, on certain aspects concerning contracts for the sale of goods (EU directive 771/2019), on package travel and linked travel arrangements directive (EU directive 2015/2302), on certain aspects of time share contracts (EU directive 2008/122), on the European Parliament resolution of 20 October 2020 with recommendations to the Commission on a Digital Services Act: adapting commercial and civil law rules for commercial entities operating online.

Materials will be given during the course.

Slides will be used during the lectures.
Students will be also involved in the solution of legal cases using brainstorming techniques.
Presentations will be organized during the course.
Active participation will be considered in the assessment.
